XX CLOSED RH15 9NN Club Redd, Burgess Hill (arson attack)

Post by Moonraker »

Club Redd, a newly-opened lap-dancing club at Burgess Hill, has been gutted in what the owner suspects may have been an arson attack. Googling "Club Redd Burgess Hill" leads to various articles about the opening, with the usual claims from the owner and complaints from residents, as well as news of the fire. Apparently clients could be tied down in the private dance area?!

More likely a wild rumour turned into "fact" by an outraged local busy-body and then quoted in the local rag by a 17 year old trainee journalist who knows nothing about checking information before going to press.

The tied down story came from [urlhttp://www.midsussextimes.co.uk/mid-sussex-new ... 4230267.jp]here[/url] - the club had a private dance booth which had restraints for those guys who like to be dominated.

Police have confirmed that the fire was indeed arson.

Max Moseley types, no doubt? Does sound a bit extreme for a lap-dancing venue. One girl told me recently that she gets quite a few requests from guys having PDs in clubs (as opposed in pubs) to slap their faces.

Well, I have to say that my own gut feeling on hearing the story was that it was probably arson, although I don't usually like to jump to conclusions in this way.

If it's discovered to be the work of religious/political fanatics (the second most likely scenario, after 'business rivals'), they'll have scored a massive propaganda own-goal by exposing their anti-democratic agenda in their actions.
