Presumably being in Station Road, it was close to the preserved railway? A Google links inconsequentially to several of those pub web sites that are never up to date and to a planning application in 2001 that refers to the pub garden being developed and to the proposed conversion of the pub itself to offices. Now, had you gone to the Bird in Hand in High Wycombe eight miles away you would have found that it is almost next door to the fabled White Horse; on my ten or so visits to the latter this year, a couple of the dancers have been acceptable, all the others very acceptable or extremely acceptable...
