XX CLOSED LU7 7AH Cube / Tease, Leighton Buzzard

Post by zante »

THE CUBE (FORMERLY TEASE).
The Venue.
The Cube is a cellar bar located at 17 Bridge Street in Leighton Buzzard. The street entrance is a little nondescript, but perfectly visible if you are observant. The bar is either accessible by train and short taxi ride or by car. Parking in the immediate area can be a little limited on Friday or Saturday nights

The Cube has dancers Wednesday to Saturday from 6-12 and Sunday 1-7. There are two dancers Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and three on Fridays and Saturday. You enter a foyer from the street. The ladies and gentlemen's toilets are straight, ahead over the other side of the foyer. The gents are clean - the ladies have not been researched! A steep flight of stairs leads down from the foyer into the cellar bar.

You will see a small partitioned off area on your right as you enter. This is the private dance area. The bar itself if off to your left. (Try not to walk into the mirror before the corner - this can sometimes fool the inebriated.) The bar area itself is perhaps 30 feet by 15 feet, with a dance floor occupying 2/3 of its depth. Comfortable leather settees and armchairs are scattered around the edge of the dance floor.

Drinks at reasonable prices come from the oak panelled bar on one side of this area. You will also tend to find your genial host, Brian, serving at the bar. He appears determined to make a success of the venue.

The Acts
The dancers, two or three per shift depending on the day, dance in walk-round mode around the bar. As the dancers are supplied by Entertease they tend to be of a uniformly good standard, with the occasional really stunning girl.

The dancers' music comes from a CD player in a small alcove on one side of the dance floor, so expect a wide choice of music. The view is good except perhaps late on Friday and Saturday evenings when the Cube gets a little crowded. There is a small coterie of regulars, who seem well known to the dancers - so expect a little banter when the dancers are performing.

Additional Services
There are private dances available to a good standard in the partitioned off area. A settee and armchair make this a comfortable and relaxed area. Dances cost either £10 or £20 depending on the time of day. The Cube also runs a Stag Night one evening a month.

Summary
This is a slightly out of the way pub, although the Wagon and Horses is only a 30 - 40 minute drive away. It has a pleasant atmosphere, amiable host and good standard of dancer. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

This used to be an Entertease pub.

Now their only cryptic comment is as follows:

After various sexual allegations made regarding the management of this venue over a lengthy time, we will no longer be supplying this venue. We do not wish to be involved with any venue acting in this way.
