News Information
THE well-known Gossington truck stop on the A38 opened its doors once again on Monday after a major refit.
Newly-named Gossington Food and Truck Stop, it now has a brand new décor, a bar and a café serving hearty breakfasts and good quality meals throughout the day.
There is also a shop selling newspapers, chocolates and toiletries in fact everything a truck driver might need.
The café is open from 5am-8pm, with the bar open from 4pm-11pm but these times might be adjusted according to demand. In order to provide security for the overnight truckers and their loads, there is on-site security and CCTV.
No one is allowed in after 11pm.
With ample parking including space for 40 lorries - the truck stop is already popular with motorists travelling along the A38. But it is hoped that people from Cam, Dursley and throughout the local area will take advantage of the tasty food and snacks being served at the café.
It¹s well-worth a visit,² said manager Tony Armstrong. People who knew the truck stop in the old days have been amazed at the changes we have made.
After being shut for a number of years, the site was bought two years ago by the owners of Milbury Commercial, the second-hand truck sales business, based at Milbury Health. That business is now run from Gossington with a secondary site in Cam
