With Foresters now closed, the antis can't blame the affray on the pub. Though, knowing them, they will overlook the fact that it has closed and attribute the violence to it anyway.

The Foresters was indeed demolished over the summer.

Currently it is unclear whether the redevelopment project will go ahead as intended.

Marine Plaza in Southend could be scrapped

Southend: ‘Marine Plaza site is blight on seafront’
The report says that "Marine Plaza was granted planning permission in 2015 but while buildings on the site [including Foresters] have been demolished, not a brick has been laid by developers the Inner London Group."

I like the comment under the article from Keyboard Karen which says "Another mess by Southend council. The cultural icon that was the Foresters was lost for nothing. That was people's livelihoods."

With the sun shining I took a trip into Southend today. This site is still boarded up with no sign that any building work is going to start soon.

Seems the landowner can't afford to pay for construction, imagine the land will be sold on
