Reports of a couple of closed venues in Brentford, also of one which is open, yet I can't find any evidence of it being a venue for strip tease.

The town you refer to is actually Brentwood in Essex (Brentford is in Middlesex) and unfortunately does not have any striptease anymore.

A couple of years ago now one of the pubs, the Alexandra, had strippers on a few evenings a week, but this stopped after a few months. Teasingly the old posters advertising the strip nights went back up a few months later for about a week but I remember a dancer telling me her booking was cancelled there and there have been no posters since. I drive past the pub on my way to/from work so still keep an eye on it even though they haven't had strippers on for over 18months!

The Sugar Hut is a big club/restaurant on the High Street which I remember tried to start a regular lap dancing night again around 2 years ago. The locals went against it, and combined with an 'outraged' local newspaper, I don't think it ever started. I'm sure it doesn't go on now anyway. A pity really as there are plenty of pubs in Brentwood, a few ideally suited to striptease!

Just to expand upon Brentford as well, I think there were a couple of locals pubs that had strippers on 1 night a week at one time but I don't believe they still do.

About 12 months ago the " Sugar Hut" recruited Alan Whitehead to start lap dancing in part of the complex { which looks terrific in the brochure}. He put adverts in the Stage to recruit girls and set an opening date but in the end the club owner decided that too many of his regulars were giving him flack and he dropped the idea. It might come back again as I understood from Alan that the place has a lot of unused space, it was though going to be very upmarket so probably not my sort of place.

To add to my (much) earlier post, this pub closed at the beginning of this year so any (slim) chance of dancing restarting has now evaporated!

off topic - the pub is to become a Tesco Express, despite protests from the local paper. God knows what there reaction would be to this becoming a strip venue!

The Sugar Hut seems to very much rely on the TOWIE effect to make its business. (I think it may be owned by someone involved in it). Can't imagine striptease will appear at any time in the near future, or if it did it would be very much as a 'gentleman's club'.

I work in the area and it is suprising the number of people who visit the town from afar because of TOWIE!
