Still listed as a venue on the Tease site also.

The website was inactive since last summer. It may be in the process of being revamped, hence the 2017 date.

Yes I tried each option and a few did work - Contact Us, Recruitment and Find Us.

Hopefully as silverlink says, the website is part way being updated.

From the website "WE ARE EASILY ACCESSIBLE FROM THE M1 MOTORWAY (500 YEARS TOWARDS DUNSTABLE FROM J9), SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DROP IN "

Seems we need a time machine to partake of the W&H again...

An optimistic forecast that they hope to be still running in 2517? There were very few customers when I last visited, and it is the most difficult place to visit using public transport, I hope it stays open, but I won't be holding my breath.

The web site is 'currently offline', so not looking good, despite its fairly recent revamp!

The venue has definitely not closed but it is only open three days a week now: Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The website is completely dead.

Typically the Tease website still gives the original opening times. If someone makes a trip specially to visit the venue and find it's closed they'll less likely to try again.

Tease website became very unreliable after Janice passed away.

This place's website is down because they haven't paid the url renewal fee due in Jan...

It IS open every time I drive past...

Any confirmation on the status of this? Driving by in a couple of weeks for work and thought that I might pop in - don't want to waste the (admittedly small) detour...

This place is no longer on the Tease website.

I presume that means they are relying solely on their own recruits now.

Dead. Up for sale as ‘exciting commercial development opportunity of 0.5 acres.

A few years ago there was a thread about crowdfunding a strip pub. If ever there was an opportunity this is it.

What went wrong;
Rebranding and refitting as an upmarket club when noone wanted it and the clients were not into that sort of place.
Ditching the agency to save money - same 4 dancers bored the punters.
Putting the price of drinks up to upmarket club prices
Putting the door price up to £5 off peak, £10 peak
Closing day times
Not reliably being open
Not doing any form of social media. Just throwing the doors open isn’t enough
Rebranding it with a poop name

Good points;
3 bedroom flat upstairs, could be rented out for minimum £1250 a month in this area, even right on Watling Street..
4 (or 6) hotel rooms outside which used to be fully let at £55 a night; £1500 a month.
A sympathetic local authority with a low licence fee.
It’s ready to open on day one.

Not brave stupid.

Reliant on truckers as little or no passing trade - why it put strippers on in the first place.

Went the same way as the much missed Annie in Vauxhall. Tried to go upmarket and lost its soul.

The strip pub is sadly now pretty much dead and I cannot see a rebirth.

Back in the day a boozer (and I use that word deliberately, ) could put on strippers on a Fridsy lunchtime or a Sunday afternoon as part of a package of events.

My grandparents ran pubs in South London 40+ years ago and had strippers on Sunday afternoon followed by bingo. It all rubbed along and no one got hurt. These days it's all wrapped in rules and regs.

So its clubs (which I hate,) the odd party - but as I don't go to pubs any more don't get invited (if anyone wants to invite me in and around SE London pm me,) but pubs are now pushed to the periphery and will struggle.
