I've heard very good things about this place while I've been looking for a venue to book for something else - anyone ever been?

There is no trace of the Lion's Den on the web (the website is defunct), and its owner Michel Harper put the entire leisure complex it belongs to (known as the quadrant) onto the market last year, according to the following article:

There's an existing, up-to-date Facebook page for the Casino nightclub on the site, although the website listed is currently under construction, and striptease isn't mentioned on it at all.

Does anyone know when this closed and became a night club? It is still listed in the supposed worlds best strip club website

Yes that WBSC site is hopeless as a source of up-to-date information. Looks like they just add places and then never delete them when they close.

What happened to Lion's Den?
Reports on here about it are from 2007 and 2008.
Soon after that it changed name (and probably management/ownership as well) to become 'Players Lounge' as part of casino complex. It was then still operating as a strip club.

states that Casino Players Lounge in Onslow Street has a licence to stage striptease "but activities of this nature are not currently being conducted. There are no known ‘sex establishments’ in the borough."
